Misk Art Grant 2023: Tracing the Absent

The fourth annual Misk Art Grant cycle supported five artists from Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. The exhibition explored fading traditions, inherited legacies and social customs and ran from 5 December 2023 to 7 March 2024 in Riyadh.

For Chameleon Tour, Misk Art Grant 2023: Tracing the Absent was an opportunity to take an exhibition designed to be experienced physically and make it accessible beyond the gallery walls. We photographed and digitally captured the space as an immersive 3D virtual tour, allowing visitors to move naturally through the exhibition, understand the relationship between the artworks and the space, and revisit the experience online from anywhere. The virtual format also creates a lasting digital record of an exhibition that was originally available for a limited period.
